The Güs Experience

What types of sessions does Güs offer?

Güs offers two distinct session formats: 1. Guided Güs: A 75 minute premium guided experience with a capacity of 20 people taking place in our larger sauna. 2. Free Flow: A 45 or 90 minute traditional open-sauna slot for self-guided use, with access to both of our saunas.

What is a guided sauna session?

Our guided Güs sessions are at the core of the Güs experience. It is a premium, guided group sauna ritual incorporating essential oils (aromatherapy), controlled heat variations, and breath work or meditative elements. This structured practice, popularised in Scandinavia and Germany, delivers deeper relaxation and therapeutic benefits than a standard sauna session and is led by a qualified Sauna Master.

What amenities are available?

Your session includes access to our fantastic facilities: two saunas (one 24 person sauna and one 12 person sauna), cold plunge pools set at different temperatures, modern private and open rinse off showers, changing cubicles, vanity section with hairdryers and straighteners, and the café area serving premium coffee, smoothies, and light refreshments. We are proud to use Bath House skincare products which can be found in our shower and changing facilities.

Facilities & Etiquette

What should I bring?

Please bring your swimwear and a water bottle (no glass permitted). Towels are provided for your convenience and are included in the session fee. You will have access to secure lockers. You may also want to bring a plastic bag for your wet swimwear.

We recommend arriving in your swimwear if possible to reduce time waiting for changing facilities.

What is your policy on nudity?

We ask that all customers wear swimwear in our sauna and cold plunge areas.

What are the typical sauna and cold plunge temperatures?

Our saunas typically operate between 80°C and 90°C, although our guided sauna sessions can get up to 100°C. Our dedicated cold plunge pools are actively chilled and maintained between 3°C and 12°C to accommodate different preferences. We also have a plunge bucket in the rinse off shower area.

Is there best practice for using a sauna?

Everybody’s sauna preferences are slightly different, however we can offer general guidelines for using our saunas:

  • Please always sit on a towel when using the sauna. Towels are provided free of charge as part of your booking price.

  • We recommend rounds of 10-15 minutes in the sauna. Please look after yourself and don’t be afraid to leave the sauna if you are feeling unwell.

  • Please always rinse off after using the sauna before using the cold plunges. This helps with your temperature regulation and ensures the cold plunges stay nice and clean for everyone.

  • When using the cold plunges, build up to the colder temperatures and take your time. 3 degrees is pretty chilly!

  • Please don’t use your own essential oils on the sauna coals as this can cause damage. If you would like to use essential oils as part of your session, please speak to a member of the Güs team.

What is the facility etiquette regarding phones and silence?

We encourage customers to use their time at Güs to switch off and relax and therefore ask that you don’t use mobile phones within the sauna and plunge areas. Some of our sessions are silent, but we will make this clear at the time of booking and/or checking in.

Health & Safety

Are there any medical conditions that prevent me from participating?

Sauna and cold plunging can involve extreme thermal stress. Whilst most people will have no issues, please consult with your GP before attending if you have a history of heart conditions, high/low blood pressure, epilepsy, or a history of fainting. If you are pregnant, we advise you to avoid using our saunas and cold plunges, although you are very welcome to use our café. You will be required to sign a liability waiver during the booking process.

Is there a minimum age requirement to visit Güs?

Güs is an 18+ venue due to insurance and licensing requirements. Unfortunately we cannot permit anyone under the age of 18 to use our sauna and plunge facilities, however all ages are welcome in our café area.
